Fredericton, March 19, 2014 — The Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick (AAAPNB) unveiled its program for Éloizes 2014 today. The event will take place in Fredericton from April 30 to May 4. The general public is invited to take part in the vast array of events intended to showcase the work of talented artists and to celebrate excellence in the arts.
"We are thrilled to announce this exciting program designed by our artistic director, René Poirier. During the Éloizes, one hundred artists will present their work on stage, in galleries, on the streets and in classrooms,"explained Carmen Gibbs, Executive Director of the AAAPNB and Producer of the Éloizes. "We have imagined and created a fantastic variety of arts activities for Éloizes 2014; there's something for everyone, and the Éloizes will capture the imaginations of children and adults alike."
Featured on the program are: classroom visits by artists as part of Youth Activities, the Exhibition of Éloizes Finalists at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the live creation of an art nature sculpture, the Creators' Circle which will give you a chance to discover artists from different disciplines, the evening Shooting Stars shows, the Literary Feast, the Movies and Popcorn night, Samedi en famille for the whole family at the Boyce Farmers' Market, Cinéma 72, the Interart-Interactif presentation, Sunday's Eucharist’art Mass, and many other activities.
"Soirée des Éloizes" Gala broadcast on Ici Radio-Canada Télé en Acadie
The incomparable Gala event, the Soirée des Éloizes, will take place on Saturday, May 3 at the Fredericton Playhouse, beginning at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:00 p.m.). The Gala will be preceded by the Red Carpet event. Hosts for the evening will be René Cormier, Matthieu Girard andIzabelle Ouellet. The Soirée des Éloizes will be broadcast on Ici Radio-Canada Télé en Acadie the next day, Sunday, May 4, from 7:30-9:00 p.m. Lots of surprises await you!
