The Éloizes 2012 program: like nothing you've ever seen before!

The program for the Éloizes 2012 Gala and activities was announced today by the Acadian professional artists' association (the Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick, or AAAPNB). The event will take place from May 2 to 6, 2012, in Bathurst. Everyone is invited to take part in the festivities, where there will be plenty of opportunities to discover new talents from the region and celebrate excellence in the arts.

The program this year is the most ambitious and elaborate since the Éloizes were created. "We're very proud of the activities we have planned. The artistic directors for the event, Monique Poirier and Jac Gautreau, have dreamed up a great program. Over a hundred artists will be performing," said Carmen Gibbs, Executive Director of the AAAPNB and the producer of the Éloizes. The program was designed to inspire the imagination of people from all walks of life, the artistic directors explained. "Whether you're an artist, a cultural worker, an entrepreneur, a volunteer, an organizer, a student or an audience member, the activities will offer something for everyone. The artists are looking forward to sharing their dreams, their challenges, their visions and the thousand and one reasons why they express themselves through their art."

Among the events scheduled are school visits by artists as part of the youth activities, an art exhibition by the finalists in the Visual Arts category, a bilingual show entitled "J’enjoye" la différence, a performance by emerging artists featuring the Hay Babies and the Hôtesse d’Hilaire, a Cercle des créateurs during which artists working in different disciplines will give you a peek into their universe, the Grande visite with Viola Léger as special guest, a literary supper, the Relève et la garde, an event in which artists of different generations will share the stage,, a morning of activities the whole family will enjoy, an afternoon of film, Ça m’dit cinéma, the Eucharist’art Mass and a variety of other activities.
