APPEL: galerie Connexion Fredericton

Fredericton’s only artist-run centre, Connexion ARC is a growing, dynamic community of people meeting to engage with contemporary visual art and to discuss the issues of social urgency it raises, with a mandate to:

  1. Promote experimental contemporary visual art practices, with an emphasis on emerging artists and issues of social urgency.
  2. Support the professional development of its artist-membership.
  3. Function as a supportive, open, equitable space for the discussion of contemporary art

Connexion ARC is excited about new and challenging work that engages with contemporary art discourse and expands upon the conditions of contemporary visual art production.

With an expanded understanding of ‘site’ – including in print and online ‘spaces’ – we encourage submissions for off-site projects by artists whose work is not easily presented within a traditional gallery space.

Connexion ARC’s core programming is selected twice annually by a volunteer committee that programs two main space gallery exhibitions + eight project space exhibitions + one artist residency + additional performances / screenings / artist talks every year.

As an artist-run centre, Connexion ARC pays professional CARFAC fees for this programming through the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Province of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Arts Board, and the City of Fredericton.

ONLY DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS ARE ACCEPTED

Submissions must include the following documents, sent as a single .pdf:

  • exhibition proposal (500 words maximum)
  • artist statement (250 words maximum)

Along with 10 images of recent work, relating to the proposed project:
